Laserjet CP2025
Hello,

Ive been searching the forums for a while and havent found solution. My office has a CP2025 networked to about 4 pcs...all but one print fine from it. The one that doesnt print keeps giving me a load tray 1 error. Yes ive gone through all steps... configurations.... control panel... ect...Even removed and reinstalled...and it still keeps coming up. It prints fine to other printers networked and all other pcs print fine to this printer. It just seems like somehow these teo are not having a nice handshake. Has anyone figured how to fix this issue? Like i said Ive searched and it seems im basically SOL....which is silly...gotta be a way to fix this if its only having an issue with one pc.

The prompt 'LOAD TRAY 1 type size' implies (I think) that the print job has requested:

  • Paper Size = size
  • Paper Type = type

but that the printer does not believe it has paper of this size and type in the cassette tray.

It may also imply that the print job has requested "manual feed"?

On most LaserJet printers:

  • The size of paper in each tray is detected automatically (by sensors attached to the paper width and length guides in the tray).
  • The type of paper in each tray has to be configured, via the front panel menu system, orEmbedded Web Server or Toolbox equivalent mechanisms.
  •  A Configuration Report can be printed (invoked from the menu system, or equivalent) which should show how the trays are configured.

Indeed. Problem is its standard letter paper. We only print one type of form from the printer. Its really strange. Like we checked all the setting and even as far as to uninstall and reinstall. All other pcs networked to it print fine...just the one machine. We originally thought maybe it was a pc issue, but it prints fine to every other printer, and after reading several forums it seems like its an HP printer issue...i say this because it seems to happen across models. We even have the exact same model of printer networked to the pc and it prints fine to that. Its gotta be something between this pc and this printer......just no idea what.

>> ... a load tray 1 error ...

So what, exactly, is the load paper message?

And what does a Configuration Report from the printer show for the size and type of paper in the paper tray(s)?

HP Recommended
The error is Load tray 1 labels letter. But we are not trying to print labels, or from tray 1. Configuration report is tray 1 size any tray 1 type any tray 2 size letter tray to type is plain.

The prompt "Load tray 1 labels letter" indicates that the print job has requested use of media (paper) of size letter and type labels.

The configuration report:

tray 1 size any tray 1 type any

tray 2 size letter tray 2 type plain

shows that the printer does not have any paper loaded which satisfies the print job request, hence the prompt is issued.

For some reason, your print job is requesting a paper type of labels.

So you need to investigate the application and/or printer driver preference settings for why this should be happening.

Yea...done all that. Maybe we will delete the drivers and try again. Its just odd because it prints fine to the exact same model printer....and all the settings are thrm.
