Help!!
Downld file now - RFU Upgrade Error on printer display
Have read lots of posts online, and some of these specify that you can update firmware on the printer manually through ftp or else copy /b <RFU FILE> \\devicename\sharename
However my problem is that the only thing I can locate on the HP Support page(s) is the firmware utility and no matter where I look, I cannot locate a single rfu file for the printer. The utility doesnt unpack and place an RFU file anywhere so I can do the firmware upgrade manually.
Does anyone know where I can locate and download the .RFU file on its own ?
Many thanks
Julian

The top download is the utility which I cannot use as printer not accepting file, as not in ready mode.
Second option on the list is the packed file, which when unpacked, contains .dll and .cab files not an RFU file.
I have tried both of these already.
Thanks for the link.
Its simply the RFU file I require.
Thanks again for replying to my posting mind.

As far as I can see, the second download (labeled "HP Color LaserJet CP3505 Printer Firmware (Includes Code Signing) for - All Operating Systems - (Mus..." is named ljCP3505_fw_03_140_1.zip.
I downloaded it, and within the .zip file is the .rfu you're looking for:
$ unzip -l ljCP3505_fw_03_140_1.zip Archive: ljCP3505_fw_03_140_1.zip Length Date Time Name --------- ---------- ----- ---- 24649055 2013-02-20 15:25 ljCP3505fw_03.140.1.rfu --------- ------- 24649055 1 file
Some versions of WinZip and similar tools can extract the "outer" compression layer of self-extracting installer .exes, too. Perhaps you accidentally unpacked the first file instead of the second one? (The default settings of Windows makes it easy to make this mistake, by hiding the filename extensions.)
