Hi,
The power supply of my mother's HP Deskjet 2050B has broken down after warrenty. It's a type 0957-2286 power supply with purple connector (30V and 333 mA, ground, not connected). Can I replace it with an older power supply type 0950-4401 with gray connector (32V and 700 mA, ground, 16V)?
Marco

Hi Marco,
No, the power supplies supply different power volage and may damage the printer.
Follow Step two: Check external power module compatibility below:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01321436
You may contact the parts store in your region to get a new power supply which is compatible with your printer.

Anyhow, a new PSU (30V type 0957-2286) costs €18,24 from HP (the shop where the printer was bought charges €50!) so I ordered one, it's not worth the risk even though the printer itself cost only €50 a year and a half ago. Even though under Dutch consumer law the shop has to ensure a proper functioning device even years after warrenty and has to pay a share of the repair (in this case replacement of the PSU).
