I want to print on card stock sheets (8.5x11) but when I try, the paper jams.  Is there a way to solve this?

@mckurtz,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

Let's try these steps:

Step 1: Try changing the paper settings on the printer.

  • Open the paper tray and close the tray.
  • You would get a notification to change the paper

  • Select the appropriate paper settings.

Step 2: Select the paper settings from the application you are printing

  • In the software application, you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.
    • The Print window opens.
  • Open the Properties dialog box.

    • Depending on the software application, the button might be Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.

    • Select the required settings

  • Try to print

  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step

Step 3: Create custom paper sizes from Devices and Printers

  • Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

  • Select Create a new Form

  • Select the photo paper size.
  • on the bottom of the form enter the width, height specifications, etc. that you find from the photo paper packaging.
  • Rename the form
  • Click OK.
  • Open the photo, click on print.
  • In the print preset window, select the custom paper size  that you have created
  • Try to print.
