I installed HP Smart software on my Mac. When using the Scan function, the Resolution drop down list only shows 75, 150 and 300 dpi. But my printer can scan at up to 1200 dpi. Why did HP cripple their newest software to not allow high resolution scanning? How do I scan at 600 or 1200 dpi?

Let's try HP Easy Scan instead:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hp-easy-scan/id967004861?mt=12

Click the top Presets menu and then Edit Settings, there you may change the scan resolution and check for any difference.

Hi,

Make sure the source is set to Flatbed Glass and check the options then, the top ADF supports up to 300 DPI and therefore won't show any other options when the source is set as Automatic Document Feeder.

I set the source to Flatbed Glass. The highest resolution is still just 300 DPI.

With Easy Scan, the problem went away.
