laser jet pro 200 color mfp m276np Paper size won't change
When I load A5 paper into the tray, a message comes up with 'UNEXPECTED PAPER SIZE in tray1. Load A4. Press OK to continue'.
I am trying to print on A5 paper and cannot do more than one copy. The message above keeps coming up and I need to sit next to the printer and push the button EVERY SINGLE time for the next printed page to happen. it is very time consuming. I have tried to change the paper size in the settings at the PC but that doesn't seem to work. Now it has gone into ‘Printing … Cool-down mode’ as I was printing 30 A5 pages out, and so this is taking even longer.
If I put in say 5 pieces of A5 to print, t usually goes into cleaning mode after each one and then comes up with the message. Can anybody help me? thanks in advance.

Hi Tickles12,
I think there are 2 possible fixes. My first thought is the loading orientation. A5 can be loaded with either the long edge across the paper tray or the shorter end across. The tray in the m276 has an A5 marking that shows that the short edge should be at the end of the tray. Please make sure you have loaded the media that way.
The second is making sure both the driver and the tray know you want to print A5. From the front panel choose the Wrench(settings) icon, then the System Setup menu, then the Paper Settings menu, then Tray 1, then Paper Size, then please make sure A5 is chosen, you might have to scroll down to find it. If the system is in a Any paper Any size mode, your symptoms can often occur.
In whatever application you are printing from, please make sure you choose for the printer the media size and type that you want to print on for this job. If the system asks if you want to print on the available media instead of just printing, you probably have a mismatch. Also, choosing landscape versus portrait for this media is always a challenge. If you check the print preview it should show if the print will be on the paper in the orientation you want.
Finally, if you go back to the same menu, on paper settings, you might check the Default paper size. If you are in the US, Letter is probably a better choice than A4.
Hope some of this helps, Dovid
