I can't print because it says the door is open. It is not open and I just replaced the ink. I tried turning it on and off and disconnected all the plugs. Nothing works

Hi @Dutchdoll777,

Welcome to the HP Community, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I see that you're unable to print because of the error message "printer's door is open" on your HP Deskjet 3847 Printer. I'll be really glad to help you with this,

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove the ink cartridges and then try to perform a Hard reset on the printer.

* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

* Remove USB cable, if present.

* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

Please follow the steps suggested in the support document for - 'Out of Paper' Error Message and the Printer Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper - Click here

If the issue persists, I would suggest this could be a printer hardware. I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for further assistance. Please fill in the product details to get the tech support number.
