Surface Pro 3, Windows 10 (64 bit) set up. I am constantly having problems EVERY TIME I try to print documents. The HP print window says the wireless network is not connected however the Wireless Network Test Report from the actual HP printer says it is On - PASS. The drivers do not need to be update on the Surface Pro, according to the HP Support online, so please - HP must have some kind of awareness of this. Cannot access the HP Print and Scan Doctor - the link does not work. Seriously. This is a basic functionality.
Currently I have to spend upwards of an hour trying various ways to get the printer to work, sometimes it will randomly print one document and then revert back to not printing. It is not a sustainable situation. I avoid printing from this set-up as much as possible as this song and dance is always necessary, however sometimes I can't do it any other way.
Way forward please or I will be dumping this HP printer and not coming back.

Hi,
Thanks for using the forum.
Have you installed the HP printer software on your PC? If not, here's the link to download and install the prinrer software. We would recommend that you download the Full feature software.
The wireless test report will indicate whether your printer is connected to the network, you will still need to install the printer software in order to print. (your current ability to print may be by the In-OS drivers)
The print and can doctor apps can be found at this link :

Hope that helps!

Hi,
The drivers do not need to be update on the Surface Pro. Well, reinstall software and drivers will definitely help (I did this not for 1 but at least 5 laptops after upgrading to Windows 10). Now, my question what is your 6500A, must be 6500A-E710* where * can be from a to z. The following software and drivers is for E710n-z:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL34830/mp-109384-3/OJ6500_E710n-z_1315-1.exe
from E710a-f:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL34837/mp-109389-3/OJ6500_E710a-f_1315-1.exe
Please download the right one and install to your computer.
Regards.

Hi,
Not sure why you couldn't get the links to work, we tried it on 2 different PCs and a mobile phone, and it was able to work.
Hope that reinstalling the drivers (please select Win 10 for the OS) would resolve your problem.
Care to let us know how it went?
Thanks!
