HP Designjet T520
Microsoft Windows XP

I have a Designjet T520 and it was installed and working. Something happened and I reinstalled it from the most recent drivers. However I can't remove the old printer. Everytime I try it crashes the Print Spooler and refers to hpihstio.dll, which doesn't appear to be installed.

How can I remove this broken printer?

If I install hpihstio.dll will that help and if so where can I find hpihstio, dll?

Hi,

Please repair the Windows XP on your laptop/PC and get .dll missing file after that try to download the below printer driver: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5263085&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=228

I would suggest https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02259020

Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02073861

I hope that answers will support to concern adequately. Let me know! Good luck
