I have installed the driver for the printer and tried to follow the instructions in the manual to scan a document. When I find my printer folder in the start menu/All Programs, there is no option there to scan. Help!

Hi @3Digit ,
I see that you are having issues scanning, there isn't any scanning software in the HP folder. I would like to help you out today.
- Double-click the HP Scan icon (
) for your printer on the Windows desktop.
- Click the Windows icon (
), click All Programs, click the HP folder, click the name of your printer, and then click HP Scan.
If you are missing the HP Scan software altogether, then the full software didn't install on the computer.
If that is the case, uninstall and reinstall the printer software. Here is the link for the newest drivers. Software & Drivers.
First do these steps, before installing the software, just to make sure it fully installs.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software and any Real Time Scanning in the Antivirus Software also, to see if that is causing the issue. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the Startup tab and click Disable all, Then click the Services tab and check Hide All Microsoft Services.
I have provided a document for how to scan. It is for Windows 7, but the steps will also work for Windows Vista.
Scan from Windows 7 With the Full Feature HP Software for HP LaserJet Multifunction Printers
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

Thanks so much @Gemini02,
I actually already had this figured out on my own by the end of the night yesterday. I did not have the options to scan or fax in the Program list, but after doing some searching I found the exe files on my computer and downloaded them. I had uninstalled and reinstalled the current driver and they didn't show up, so that's when I went digging.
All set now! Thanks!

Hi! I've tried everything you suggested above, but when I try to open HP Scan I get an error message that says "The HP LJ M127128 Scan was not found". I have a HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw and a Dell Latitude E7450 running Windows 7. The two are connected wirelessly. Printing and copying functions are working well, although the device manager has flagged the printer as not having a driver installed (and the troubleshooter has been unable to locate one to install). Please advise. Thank you!

Hi @feliztheowl,
I see that you are having issues scanning, the driver didn't install the imaging device and the troubleshooter couldn't find the driver to update it. I would like to help you out today.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it.
If the issue persists, I would uninstall the software, perform a clean boot on the computer and turn off the Antivirus Software. How to perform a clean boot in Windows. Then reinstall the drivers again.

If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know. Thank You.

Hi! My HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw's Scanner Function had been working for the past two days, but it currently is no longer able to find the document I am trying to scan. Specifically, it says "No Document Loaded." Any suggestions as to how I might resolve this?
