After the new Windows 10 ver 1511 build 10586 was successfully installed on April 16, 2016 on my computer, the HP Photosmart C3180 printer was no longer recognized. Tried to install the driver that worked with the older win10 version. It did not even start (the Install button was missing ...). Downloaded from HP support site the recommended AIO_CDA_NoNet_Full_Win_WW_140_408-4.exe package for win 10 64-bit. It seems to install all components (except Bing toolbar - "incompatible with this Windows version"), the device was recognized and the connection with the printer established, but during the final configuration a "Fatal error during installation: \HP\Digital Imaging\{ .....}" is issued. Any ideas ? Should I wait for a new driver for Windows 10 ver 1511 build 10586?
Thanks,
Ovidiu

Hi Marcellus,
I read those HP troubleshooting hints before posting my message. They didn't help. The driver installation fails close to the end (the driver installs, but the final configuration fails) , as a (no name) HP printer device is added to the rest of the devices. The HP Solution Centre icon opens but it says that the device device is not properly installed and it prompts to close it.
The context is the following: when windows was upgraded from 7 to 10, the exiting C3180 driver worked ok for win 10 without having to reinstall it. Several days ago, when win 10 upgraded to ver. 1511 build 10586, it stopped working and reinstalling the latest recommended driver doesn't work.
I hope to find a solution, other than going back to win 7.
Thank you.

Hi @OP61,
The HP Photosmart C3180 is compatible with Windows 10, so you should not have to go back to Windows 7 to get the printer working. If you are unable to install the full feature software and drivers from the HP website, then I recommend you try installing the Windows Built-in Print Driver. Below, is a link to a document that offer some instructions on how to install and use the Windows Built-in Print Driver. Please try installing the driver and let me know if it is successful and if you are able to use your printer.
