Dear All:
We have this hp Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M177fw printer in the office. There was this incident where the back cover was forcefully opened and two small white plastic parts fell. And so after that, we cannot firmly close the back cover anymore and if we could, it opens again when printing operation is underway. We cannot really figure out how and where to put it back on as we are sure this 2 objects are for firmly closing the back cover of the printer.
Please help!
We attached the picture of this parts here.

Greetings @Richard72blue,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that 2 pieces came off the printer and you are looking to find a way to fix it back. I would like to provide my suggestion.
Is the printer is working fine without these parts?
As there is no service manual is available for the printer, I would not be able to let you know where to insert these parts.
If the printer is working fine, continue to use the printer to or contact our phone support to check on the service options available.
Hope this helped.
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Please give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accepted Solution" and "Kudos" buttons,
That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.

You have a problem. It looks like those of parts that secure the transfer roller to the back cover. You can not order a replacement back cover/transfer roller assembly as hp does not provide the part. Attached is a picture which you should blow up and look at the white pieces on each end of the roller that is in the middle of the cover. I think you plastic pieces are what hold the roller in place and I just hope the roller is there and has not been damaged.
