Not wanting to go out and buy a new printer because the one I have is working perfectly OK, I have a terrible workaround butI can now print:

a) I rolled back to Windows 7

b) I reinstalled my Photosmart 2610 printer

c) I reinstalled Windows 10 next to Windows 7 (dual boot)

d) I save any output for printing in the windows 7 partition

e) I restart my computer in Windows 7 when I need to print.

It sucks but it works until HP come up with something better, or anyone else for that matter.

Luckily I don't have masses of print jobs.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry ;-(

Success :smileyhappy:

At the end of last week there was a notification after logging in that an update was waiting for installation.
It was an update for a Photosmart 2610 printer. I performed the installation and now I can print from windows 10 too.

Haven't tried scanning yet but I'm confident that's going to work too.

I've downloaded and installed "HP Scan and Capture" from  the windows 10 App Store and am now able to do do everything I need.
