I had my p2015dn set to static 192.168.1.50 on my home network.  I forgot to reset it back to DHCP before I took it off my network and brought it to my son's college dorm. Now I cannot seem to reset the IP address.

Somehow now it is showing an IP address of 10.1.180.12 and I cannot seem to reset the IP to automatic via the web interface.  I connect to it using 10.1.180.12 to get to the web admin interface from my laptop via ethernet cable but, no matter what I do (automatic and check of DHCP/AUTOIP/BOOTIP or just plain DCHP) and applying the changes, restarting the printer, etc.  It always comes back to an IP address of 10.1.180.12.

I don't know where this IP address is coming from and it does not seem to want to go away.

Does anyone have any tips/solutions?  They will be much appreciated because I'm stumped.  Thanks.

Network reset
A network reset changes all network system parameters in NVRAM to the factory defaults. During
the network-reset process, all button presses are ignored.
Use the following procedure to perform a network reset.
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold the Job Cancel button.
3. Turn on the printer and continue to hold the Job Cancel button for approximately 10 seconds,
but no longer than 20 seconds. During this process, the Attention light turns on.
4. Release the Job Cancel button. The Attention, Ready, and Go lights begin cycling from front to
back. After the network-reset process is complete, the device returns to the ready state.
NOTE If the Attention and Ready lights illuminate before you release the Job Cancel
button, start again at step 1

did I miss part of the setup on the printer or the router?

the router is qa westell 7500 and I made no changes to it

another possibility that has been suppested is a bad ethernet board on the printer. Thoughts?

thanks, bills12

actually, I believe it is the Green 'go' button that you want to push and hold during that process, not the cancel button.
(Just tried it on mine)

Another way around this is to set a manual IP address (on the same range as the printer) on your PC and then plug your PC into a network switch.

After you plug the printer into the same network switch you will be able to access the printer online and change what you need to.
