I can't use HP Easy Scan anymore with my D110 and my Mac running Sierra. I've done all of the usual stuff (restart everything, reinstall drivers/easy scan) that is recommended.
Most strangely I can scan from every other app - including Apple's own apps and also 3rd party apps. I can also print from device. So it's clearly not that my Mac can't connect to it or there is any issue connection communicating. The ONLY issue is with HP Easy Scan. I would rather not use it except it has some useful features when it works.
I assume this is why the Easy Print app gets absymal rating in the App Store.
Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂
I came across your post and understand that you have an HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a and are unable to scan using the HP Easy Scan app on Mac Sierra. I read that you have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and have isolated the issue well. The printer seems to scan using Apple's software and other third party apps.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
Does the printer scan from an iPad or any other Apple device (if available)?
When was the last time the HP Easy Scan worked fine?
Any changes that may have taken place after which the HP Easy Scan app stopped working?
Meanwhile, I suggest you to perform the below steps to fix the issue:
I am responding to HP's response to another person's issue. I am having the same issue with the same printer scanner -- HP Photosmart D110. The problem only started after upgrading my MacBook Air to OS Sierra 10.12.4. I just removed and redownloaded HP Easy Scan and it is still not communicating with my D110. I can print on my D110. Thanks, Dave
