Hi,
I have had no problems until now. I recently moved to the latest version of Windows 1 insider build 15031 and now it seems my scanner driver is missing.
I have tried the usual route to solving this but to no good.
Firewall OK
Deleted and re installed full driver package plus driver only package.
Run the HP scanner repair tool and all is good but scan gives the same error.
I have compared my drivers with another W10 PC running normal release.
We both have the Fax driver and the printer driver, but my PC is missing a 3rd driver that I assume is the scanner driver as I keep getting the same error message.
I have just tried running the EiO app from the app store and was amazed to find that scanned OK to my PC.
What driver does that use?
Confused.
Regards,
David

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft and then reinstall the FULL feature software again?

Let us know if that works!

Hi,
Can you try this:
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Let us know if that works.
It'll allow you to scan from the PC, but not to the PC (that would require the FULL feature software, which seems that you are having issues installing it successfully).

Hi @Squeezy99,
Why are you expecting a third line?
Can you try using a TCP/IP port?
Create a TCP IP port
1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
This video resource will show you how to do it:
Create & Use TCP IP port
Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)
Let us know if that works

Hi Dean,
that has not worked either. Printing OK and scan using HP Scan and Capture, but still not using the HP Prinetr assistant, which is what I used before.
Also when I try Paint, Photoshop etc that says no scanner connected.
I took a screen shot of my other PC that is running W10 normal version and it has a third printer entry that I assume is for the scanner although it does not say scanner in the Hardware ID. The others say FAX and Printer.
Thanks for for your support.
Kind regards,
David
