HP Photosmart 5520

Hi,

 

I recently arrived in the UK from Australia and brought with me my HP Photosmart 5520 ( Product No CX042A ).

The ink the machine was using in OZ was the 564 Cartridge. HP product info stated that the 364 cartridge would be compatiple with my printer but it will still not accept it once loaded the correct/normal way. I wiped/cleaned the chip on new cartridge as per some tips I watched online but to no avail. Only message from printer is "Incompatible cartridge", no further actions are possible.

Looking for a solution as I use my printer from my home study for University work and it has been a good reliable printer for me. Further to that I just bought a 4pk of HP364 original cartridges for it.

HP Printers - Find and Install Cartridges after Moving to another Country.  The printer needs to be regionalized to the new county.

You will need new cartridges from the county you are in at the time you contact HP.

I Have purchased the correct 364 original cartridges and placed them successfully in the printer.

Can I do the regionalization reset online or do I need to contact HP United Kingdom directly, if so what is the best contact No for me to use. I seem to be going in circles presently.

Is it possible to contact HP direct to help me with the Regionalization Reset ?.

At the moment I cannot seem speak to anyone and the system only tells me that the warranty on my Photosmart 5520 has expired, which I am well aware of.

Surely there must be a direct number that I can call on weekends and speak to someone in tech support ?.

I have been going in circles so far without being given any contact numbers to call.

The reset is covered under the HP cartridge warranty.    You will have to find the number yourself or fill out the form.

I will give them a call first thing on Mon morning.

 

No problems with the warranty on the ink cartridges - they are brand new and have a late 2018 expiry.
