After trying unsuccessfully to read an SD card via the printer when my PC card reader couldn't read it, the printer now insists on displaying the error message ("Card access error") even when the card has long since been removed.
Even when the printer has been switched off, data and power cables temporarily removed, and switched back on, the error still insists on showing, complete with red flashing light.
The printer quite happily and successfully prints a test page! But the error message and flashing light is driving me mad!
Any help much appreciated.

Try resetting the printer back to Factory Defaults. From the User Guide page 23...
Revert to the factory default settings
If you made adjustments to the default settings, you can reset the printer to the
original factory settings at any time. To revert to the factory default settings,
follow these steps.
Note: The language a nd country/region settings you chose will not change
if you revert back to the factory default settings.
1 On the printer’s control panel, press the MENU button.
2 Press the SELECT PHOTOS button until Preferences appears highlighted
on the LCD screen, and then press the OK button.
3 Press the SELECT PHOTOS button until Restore defaults appears
highlighted on the LCD screen, and then press the OK button.
4 Press the SELECT PHOTOS button to highlight Yes or No, and then press
the OK button.

While the red warning light is flashing (all the time the printer is switched on), no other buttons are operable, so no operations such as resetting the machine (or indeed anything else) is possible.
It was the first time I've even used the card reader during the life of the printer, so in doing so it looks like I have rendered the whole control panel inoperable!
The machine still happily prints from the computer!!
