To whom it may concern,

I used Adobe Acrobat X Pro to scan from my HP OfficeJet 8600 flawlessly. Then I bought HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 with the intention of scanning using Adobe Acrobat X Pro again. And suddenly I only get scans in legal size when all my papers scanned are 8.5x11. Please help.

The scan settings and / or Printing Preferences may be stuck on a previous job setting.

Acrobat X may be struggling to accomodate the newer printer software.

??

If you are willing to use (or at least download and install) a different program, you can try the following:

  • Download and install the Full Feature Software for the printer:

OJ8720_Full_WebPack_1881.exe

(157.2 MB)

  • Restart the computer and log in

Try again...

If no joy:

Download and install

HP Scan Extended

Open the HP Scan Extended program > Save as PDF >

On the right side of the menu, set Page Size to:

  • Your preferred page size

OR

  • Entire Scan Area

OR

  • Auto Detect

Some, although not all, of the following scan options are available to your Windows 7 OS...

You cannot scan with Adobe Reader DC.

Other programs don't provide the functionality I am looking for, not to mention I have already paid for Adobe Acrobat Pro X.
