Hello, @Delmere - Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a dynamite location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I see that you are having issues with your HP LaserJet printer. Do not worry, I will certainly do my best to help you find a solution 🙂

I understand that you are getting code 99.1007 on your event log. But, are you getting any type of error while trying to print to your LaserJet? If yes, try performing a power drain first. Here are the steps:

  • Remove the toner from the printer.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now, try printing a configuration page from your printer as suggested below and let me know if you are able to print the same.

  • Press and hold the Resume () button for two to three seconds to print a configuration page.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

Thank you for you kind reply.

My question was more of a sarcastic comment than a question.

Why does HP have codes but not make them public? Is there any logic in that?

Hello, @Delmere

Thanks for the reply/! I sure did not catch it the first time 🙂

HP does have public documents which will help intercept and troubleshoot the common error codes. But, not all the codes are included in the document due to the nature of the issue or the troubleshooting steps needed to resolve the issue.

I hope that helps! Let me know!

Cheers 🙂
