I'm trying to install driver/software for a Color Laserjet Pro M452NW on a "brand new" (fresh out of the box) Windows 10 (64 bit) machine.
After the download the installer progressed through 90 something percent then stopped with the following message:
"ERROR X: A problem occured while preparing to install software to your stystem. Please restart your computer and run this installer again. If the problem persists, please check the product support website for your product."
Each time I ran the installer I got the same result.
The product support website advised to disable any download management software that may be present on my computer. As far as I know there is no such software on my computer, but then, I don't really know what may be pre-installed on a brand new computer.
Just to be clear.... the printer has not yet been attached to the computer.
So what can I do to resolve this issue?

Hi,
I am not a printer man but thought we can give a try by downloading the software/driver again and install.

Thanx for your response.
I've tried new downloads and subsequent installations a total of 4 times now and all have ended with the same results. Your download link also ended with the same error.
Although I can't be sure (as I'm not to "up" on this sort of thing) it appears that two of the downloads came from Austin and two came from Houston.
So..... thank you..... but I'm still looking for a solution.

I'm having the same issue. Brand new Windows 10 laptop, the printer is detected, I can see the installation media via devices, but when I install the software, it gets to 99% and quits with the same error message.
