Color LaserJet CP1518ni
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I recently replaced all of the toner cartridges in my CP1518ni. Since replacing the cartridges, the colors are not correctly aligning, resultiing in blurry images. When I print out a diagnostics page through the printer menu, the colors align perfectlly on the left side of the page, but the further across the page to the right, the colors shift. The result is a very BAD image on the right side.

I have ran the calibration control via the printer menu, numberous times, with no success. I have reset the printer to the factory defaults. I attempted to find a printer firmware update for my printer, but in all of my navigation of the HP web sites, I was not able to locate a  download for this. Very easy to buy NEW printers. I have tried every solution I could find on the internet forums and nothing seems to work.

I am using this printer on a Macintosh computer with El Capitan OS 10.11.4 consequently, no Windows Troubleshooting software is going to offer me a solution.

This is a printer I am using for personal use, and consequently not one that is constantly in use, so I expect to get many years of use out of it. At this point in time, I have just printed 4,619 pages, with 3,955 of these in color.

I am desperately seeking a solution, not wanting to scrap the printer and buy something new.

Is there anybody that can offer me a solution to my dilema? It almost makes me want to go back to an old dot matrix, black printer!

Hello, @strator – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.

I understand that you are facing issues after changing the cartridges in your LaserJet printer. It certainly looks like an issue with the new cartridges that you replaced. Are those genuine HP cartridges or are you using the refilled cartridges?

If you are using refilled toners that might be the cause of this issue. Please do let me know.

If you are using the genuine HP toners, then try the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2gCb6Iy

Let me know how that goes. Good luck!

Cheers 🙂
