I recently moved and have lost the usb cord that fits the printer. How can I connect it wirelessly without the cord? My router does not support WPS.

Hi,

Please check the following article:

You still may need the cable to set it up.

Regards.

It is peferred to use WPA or WPA2 instead of WPS.

What wireless protocols does your wireless router support?

You will need to uninstall the printer's software and then reinstall it using the wireless conection option.

Follow the instructions on this HP web document to install your printer on your wireless network.

The printer will assign itself an IP address that you can use to connect to it with via the embedded web interface.

Power up the printer, and hit the wireless button.

Once the blue light is blinking, connect to the printer wirelessly from the PC as if it was any other wireless network connection.

Your PC will be assigned an IP address like 192.168.223.100, and the printer will have an IP address like 192.168.223.1

But at least they are talking to each other.

Hold down the X button until you hear the feed motor start, and release it.

On the printed configuration page, look for the IPv4 address under Network Information.

Open your favourite browser, and put in that address in the address bar.

With any luck, you now have access to the web based configuration interface of the printer.

Go into the wireless configuration page and configure the printer for your router by choosing the correct SSID and entering the correct password and selecting the correct password type.

After you hit SAVE, the printer should automatically connect to your network.

Now select your router rather than your printer as your wireless connection in the computer.

At this point everything should be up and running.
