Hi All,

I have recently changed my ISP and so new WiFi network has been set up at home.

Now I want my printer (HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m) to connect to the new network.

Is there a way I do this without having to attach a printer cable between my laptop and the printer?

Thanks

Yes, on the front of the printer: Setup > Wireless > Restore Defaults.

Now on your computer, in the HP folder, run the Printer Setup and Software to add the printer to your new network.

Hello,

Printer set up expects me to connect a cable between my laptop and the printer and doesn't let me go on with out it.

Please advise

Thanks

Yup, that is how your computer will tell your printer about the network.  It is just a temporary connection and the software will ask you to remove it at the end of the process.

What if we don't have the USB cable anymore?

Hi smrtmom,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums and don't worry there is a way to connect your printer without the USB cable.

I have included a link to a post by Jon-W here on the forums.  I know you it's about a Chromebox but the steps are the same.  Please follow the steps after Jon says "There is another alternative but it can be hit or miss."

Did you connect your printer to your new network (formed with your new router)? If not, your printer is still looking for your old network.

My printer won't print.  The wireless setting on the printer indicates it does recognize the new router altho one line reads: MAC 1cc1de7c7651.  I'm wondering about the "MAC"
