Is there a cable or adapter that I can use to connect an Officejet 5610 which has only a USB jack to a Verizon Actiontec wireless router which has only ethernet jacks? I want to print wirelessly from a Macbook Air. I've seen RJ45-to-USB adapters on Amazon but most of the comments say they don't work. Thanks.

Hi,
RJ45-to-USB only works on your computer because Windows and iOS (may be other OS'es too) have driver(s) built-in. We don't have driver built-in on printer(s) therefore this won't work. Vendors may develope firmware for new printers one day.
Depending on your wireless router, does it have print server built-in ? If yes, you can connect printer to it and print wirelessly. You can also use stand alone USB wireless print server BUT (big BUT), my testings few years back told me: don't advise people to use this type of device.
Regards.

Thanks for your reply. My son brought over an old Airport Express (first generation). With help from the Apple support website we were able to set it up & connect it between the HP 5610 printer (USB) and the Verizon Actiontec router (ethernet) & print wirelessly just fine. Problem solved.
