Connecting printer to a secure wireless network which requires both username and password

I have the hp photosmart 6510. I have it in my college dorm, which has a secure network with requires both a user name and password. I need help setting it up as I can't seem to get the printer to enter a username and password. I know the printer works and I know that my computer can print wirelessly with the printer. My college game me this setup configuration.

CSLIEW: sorry, but that does not help.  The original poster asked how to enter a username and password into the printer in order to connect to a WPA2 network.   I have the same problem - our kid's campus network uses WPA2  (not WPA2-PSK, which uses only a shared key for authentication) and we need to enter both the username and the password (which we know) into the printer.

We don't need a document telling us how to find the key for a WPA2-PSK network if we don't already know it.

We do need a document telling us how to enter a WPA2 username and password into the printer, which in my case is a P1102w.

Schools do not want wireless printers on their network.  Why??  Two reasons.

1.  Sucks up an available IP that they may be limited on.

Or 2... this is more like it...

2.  Wireless printers on a public network are a great target for anyone to find and start printing a 100 page color file to!  Heck if I was still in college I would do this to every printer I could find to blow their ink an paper.  Why?   Because I can and it's fun!

Do not connect your printer to a public WiFi.  You need a private LAN... read above.

Thanks for the pointer to the TL-WR702N - it looks like a neat little device, so I got one just to play with even if it does not solve the printer problem.

I have not been able to determine from the manual whether the device supports WPA2 in client mode.  It supports WPA2 in AP mode and allows you to configure a RADIUS server.  But for client mode the manual says only "It is recommended that the security type is the same as your AP's security type." without saying what security types are supported.  The figure shows security disabled and does not show a username field.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that the device supports the WPA2 security type and shows a username field when it is selected.

Yes the device supports WPA2.  And you will not need any authentication once you configure it like I said.   Once your computer answers the authentication your printer is on your Private LAN connected to YOUR SSID... so nothing is asked!
