Photosmart D110a
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

All of a sudden the printer won't print. This happened a few months ago as well. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software. It scans fine. When you print, the window appears and click the print button, then nothing. The queue is empty. When I run diagnostics, it can print an internal test page but not external. The doctor says to uninstall and reinstall which I've done several times over the past few days.

I understand you are having printing issues on your HP Photosmart D110a printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you made any changes on the printer before the issue started?

How is the printer connected? USB or Wireless

Do you get any error message on the printer screen or on the computer screen?

In the meantime, let's try to perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.

I had this problem a few months ago and went through quite a few cycles of installing, etc. It was working.

no changes

wireless connection

no error messages or anything

Followed these steps. I can print a test page from the printer itself but when I print from a program, I get the print option windows, click print and nothing. The print queue doesn't show anything listed.

Hi @mTfonner,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

As I understand you have tried to perform a Hard reset on the printer which has not helped to fix the issue, don't worry as I have a few other steps which should help you to resolve your concern,

From the Desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.

Browse down to the print spooler service, right-click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.

Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

Restart the computer and you should find the document has been removed.

For more details, please go through the support document for - HP Printers - Print Jobs Stuck in Print Queue (Windows) - Click here

If the issue persists, let's try to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click on the link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32503/mp-109779-3/Full_Webpack-140.0.408-5-PS_AIO_07_D11...
  • Select “wireless” in the connection type window and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Restart the PC and then try to print.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

I performed each task as described. Printed a test from the installation program but won't print a word doc, pdf, etc. The print window opens, click Print and then nothing. It never shows up in the print queue.
