How to set DPI in hp Easy Scan??

Hi! @wineberry, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you need to know how to change DPI settings using HP Easy Scan app.

Try few steps mentioned below to change the DPI settings.

Open HP easy scan app on scan popup window

change source setting from ''use document feeder'' to ''always scan from glass''

This allows resolution to be adjusted up to 1200dpi

Select your preferred DPI settings from the list.

Let me know if this works!

Cheers! 🙂

I don't understand why customer support people are still encouraged to give text-based explanations. For example, here, there are step-by-step instructions - none of which makes any sense to me with the interface I have. Would it be too hard to add screenshots??

I am having trouble with this solution. I have a Mac running iOS High Sierra and am using a HP ENVY 5530.

As you can see, the "source" cannot be changed, and neither the Mode or Resolution have any options besides "No Value" and "200 ppi".  All of these settings could be edited with the "HP Scan" software, but that is not compatible with High Sierra.

I also have this problem—Mac with High Sierra and had to install HP EasyScan.

The way to change the scan resolution is

>File >New Scan Session >Presets >Edit Settings >

Unfortunately it seems you have to do this EVERY TIME YOU START UP THE SOFTWARE
