HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have reset my "HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer series" printer in hope to be able to log into the EWS service to make some changes.

I'm getting a popup that is asking for the username/password.

What is the defualt username/password?

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting pop up asking for username and password while accessing EWS page. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

Please follow the bellow steps to fix this issue.

  • Press the wireless button on control panel.
  • Select settings.
  • Scroll down to restore network defaults and then press OK.
  • You should be able to make changes on EWS page now.

Let me if that works.

Cheers.

Still getting the same message. I tried it in Chrome and Internet Explorer.

I'm able to get to the ' HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer series' page, but if I try to make any changes (i.e. Tools/Utilities/Print Quality Toolbox or others) I get the login prompt.

Is there an actual username/password that would go in there?

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

Try the below username and password.

  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.
