HP 5660
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When running Windows Update on my Windows 10 machine, I am constantly prompted by,

"Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.213.7334.0) - Error 0x80070643". When I try to install the update, I'll get the same error message as mentioned above. Windows Defender is disabled on my computer because I'm using Norton Internet Security. So, why am I receiving updates for Windows Defender it's disabled and when I am not using it?

Thanks! I had contacted Microsoft before, and they suggested getting in touch with HP. I'll give Symantec a call tomorrow, hoping to get a solution to this problem.

Hi,

Both products are NOT from HP. Please use the followin fix from Microsoft:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-live/essentials-error-0x80070643-or-0x800706d9-enable-win...

Thanks for your immediate reply, but my Windows firewall states, "These settings are being manged by vendor application Norton Security," my anti-virus program, so I should not change those settings.

Please call Norton Security for your issue. Thank you.

Hi,

As mentioned on my first reply: You have to ask Microsoft (owner of Defender) or Symantec (ower of Norton Security)  .

Hi Dirgster,

Please disable the smart firewall and auto protect by right clicking the Norton icon on the taskbar. Try running the updates after that. Let me know the result.

Thanks
