Having the same issue here. I changed the carrige motor & lubed the rail and everything is the same. Could it be the carrige it self? Sounding mome like a sesnsor issue here...

Trailing Cables, Carriage Board, Carriage Motor, Carriage Belt, Encoder Strip
Corrective action:
1. Switch the power off and disconnect the power cord. Reconnect the power cord and
power on the printer.
2. Go to Support Menu by pressing the Power key
continuously for 15 seconds.
3. Go to 2 Diagnostics menu and run 2.1 Carriage Servo diagnostic
4. After running this diagnostic the printer will show one of these system errors:
◦ 42.1:10 Replace the Carriage motor and follow the Onsite Troubleshooting
described below, see Carriage Motor on page 268.
● Carriage Motor – CQ890-67006
◦ 02:10: Replace the Carriage Assembly and follow the Onsite Troubleshooting
described below Carriage and Belt on page 236
● Carriage assembly w/belt (24) – CQ890-67002
● Carriage assembly w/belt (36) – CQ893-67011

Thank you for the tips!
I just noticed yesterday that the Trailing Cable has some seriouse nicks on it. Not sure how they got there, wierd.. Bearly printed 100 pages on this printer. Well, Ordered a new Trailing Cable today and should know soon if that was the problem. I'll post / Share my progress..
Thanks...

Hey,
Im assuming the carriage motor is the scan axis motor that has been replaced.
Check the quality of the drive belt, is it torn or worn out?
Where along the path does the carriage assembly stop?
Is there any noises associated, possibly grind sound?
With the printer off and the carriage in the middle of the printer, hold the belt firmly and try to move the carriage.
If it moves at all, the clip on the back of the carriage that holds the belt in place is broken. You would have to replace the carriage assembly.
I have had the 42:10 error come up on a T2300 before for the clip being broken.
Hope this helps,
Tom
