I need help resolving an 61:05 error on a 42" Designjet 800.

This is what I have tried so far:

- Switch Printer off/on.

- Cleaned printhead contacts

- Replaced printheads

- Changed driver

- Updated Firmware

- Replaced RAM

- Tried printing via network and local.

- Tried old XP raster driver

Could this be a hardware failure? Any help is welcome. Thanks.

This message normally pops up when the printer cannot process a file or the incorrect driver has been installed.

In this case you will need first isolating the unit to test its functionalilty---

Print an internal report from the printer itself

If it works, go to the driver installed on your computer and send a test page

if it does not work, go to hp.com to install the proper driver. Use the printer product number to find out the driver

iIf the issue is not related with the driver test different files formats to determine which is the one causing the problem

Important -- Most 800 printers should come with a formatter to process data, if your printer does not have it you will have to install the driver for the HP Designjet 500 printer PCL3

Thank you for your response.  I can get internal prints but cannot print a test page. Yes it does have a formatter, I have tried replacing the RAM located there.  I have even tried using a 500 raster driver. I will try again to find a working driver. Also have tried differant file formates as a test. PDF, CAD, WORD, txt. none work. Thank you.

Make sure picking the correct printer before re-installing the software

I  tried drivers from that list on the windows Xp32 bit and windows7 64bit from two differant PCs both local and network. Still no luck.

Hi ,

Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, No sure if you have tried from a newer OS version such as W7 or higher.

Reason why is because your OS literatelly passed away since two years ago  and there is no way to perform even an update.

Hi,

What is the computer operating system, the printer model number and how is the computer connected to your computer?
