Design Jet 510
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

I have a HP Design Jet in a HS Drafting Lab.   Someone moved the printer with the USB cable still plugged in and broke the USB for off of the Motherboard.

We puchased a new elctornics modle  (HP Part CH336-600007) but kept the same GL/2 Formatter Card.

Now we are getting an error code on the PRinter screen (01:12) .

Tried updating the firmware.   No luck.

The part number you gave is incorrect. The correct part number is CH336-67002. The formatter card should work but if all else fails, remove the card and when the error comes up, hit the enter button and the plotter will come to ready. Use the raster driver, pcl3 which will work without the card.

Thank you for your responce.

We could not find the just the board. (CH336-60008).

We purchased the entire entire electonics module (CH336-60002).  Which included a new board. (CH336-60008).

Basically, as far as I know, the parts that we took out match the exact numbers of the parts we put in.

Here is the link to the ebay part.

I tried removing the card.  The error does not clear. Nothing happens when I hit the enter button.  Still getting error code. 01:12

Sorry misread the error thinking 05:10. That said the error is related to the emod you got.

See Below:

System Error: 01:12
Problem
Description:
The EEROM is not configured correctly (the product number may
be missing).
Corrective Action: Configure the EEROM correctly using the EEROM setup utility

Do a google search for the service manual and perfom the setup utility.

Someone is trolling.     I did not write this reply.

Someone made a new profile just yesterday (member since 3-31-17) and added a 1 to the end of the name (Riverside HS1).

Thank you.  I found the sevice manual onliine.

The new problem is that I can't access any option on the menu to get to SET UP UTILITY.   I get the error code on the screen and can't get anywhere else. I have no menu options

You missed this at the beginning of the chapter.

Entering Service Menu at Power Up - Only for Onsite Repair
If the Printer fails to initialize completely because of a System Error
and you need to use the Service Menu (Service Tests and Utilities),
the Printer can be powered up in Service Mode by pressing the Up
and Enter keys while switching the Printer ON. This will give you
access to some of the Service Tests and Utilities without having to
complete the System Initialization (if you perform some of the tests,
they will need to initialize the relevant part of the System).

Sometimes it takes 2 people as the power switch does not always work. So one person holds the keys and the other person plugs the power cord in.

I got though the menu to select the serial number.   The old serical number is (removed content).

I bought the new part refurbished from EBAY and cant fint the new serial number.

I think you need to enter the Printer Serial number when asked - not an Electronics module serial number.
