HP Designjet T2500
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

The problem I have is actually on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard OS. (There's no selection for that in the OS dropdown.)

I downloaded the current drivers for Windows 8.1 x64 from the website:

HP DesignJet T920, T930, T1500 and T1530 eprinter series PostScript Full feature Installer (for PostScript printers only)
Version: 61.133.1621.100

HP Designjet T2500 eprinter series HP-GL/ 2 and HP RTL Full feature Installer
Version: 61.144.2815.200

Those are available here:

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-designjet-t2500-multifunction-printer-series/540...

The postscript installer completes with no error and installs a printer. When I run the downloaded HPGL2 file (HPDesignJetT2500PrinterSeriesHPGL2.exe) it again attempts to install the Postscript driver and Postscript printer NOT the HPGL printer driver.

Both downloaded EXE files are slightly different, however they both appear to perform the same Postscript installation.

Is this a known problem ? Is there any way to also install a separate HPGL2 printer?

I really do not have an answer for you, however, maybe by loading one of the drivers first some files that the second driver would use got confused between the two downloads. Suggest you remove the postscript printer from you computer and also remove all files associated with it. I would also remove the hpgl files and then restart the computer, download the gl2 driver only and see what files it installs. Keep in mind if you printer is the postscript version, then it is possible the software sees the printers as postscript and load that version software.
