My hp deskjet 1010 cuts of the bottom of the page with all programs

The bottom margin for the Deskjet 1010 is about 1/2" required to properly handle the paper. See the Paper Handling Specifications, Print Margins in the document here.

 

Print margins

The document margins must match (or exceed) these margin settings in the portrait orientation.
