Hello!

I looked through the first 10 pages of topics to see if this was brought up, but it hasn't or I didn't see it, but here it goes.

Today, I purchased a Deskjet 1512 All in one at Walmart. I installed the printer and drivers without issues. The printer appears online and when I try to print, the printer just won't print out the documents. I tried everything that the users manual suggest, but with no success. I pulled up the printer page, and it shows the document as printing and a few seconds later it disappears, as if the printing was completed - but it is not -. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and the printer and it says it was successfully installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Evelynrm,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand the printer is completing partial print jobs. First, I would like you to perform a hard reset. I will provide instructions on how to perform this task:

1. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer, and its current electrical outlet.

2. Hold down the power button on the printer for 30 seconds, while it is unplugged. This drains all the electricity out of the machine.

3. Connect the one end of the power cord into the back of the printer.

4. Connect the other end to a direct wall outlet (not a surge protector or power strip). This will ensure the machine can obtain more electricity, since lack of electricity can generate issues like this.

5. Now, try to generate a copy.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, I would install the latest firmware on the printer. I have provided a document on how to update the printer: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates

If the issue is still not resolved, try printing a test page from the printer itself and see if the same behavior occurs. Let me know the results!

This does not work.

same problem here.  only way it ever did print was by running the HP printer doctor.. Now that doesn't even work.

The printer scans but does not print.  However, it the "copy" button is pressed it will scan and print a copy of the document loaded into the scanner and eject the printed copy!!!

Cannot print from printer, regardless of application; Word, Outlook, Excel, internet, Adobe Acrobat.  It worked for several years, but moved and added wireless (older HP) printer to office and the 1512 no workie!

Have rebooted.   Again no print!

Purchased and installed new printer cable.   Again no print!

Have performed "hard reboot" (or so someone called unplugging the printer, pressing the power button for 30 second, followed by plugging directly to an outlet (vs. power strip).   Again no print!

Deleted and reinstalled printer over ten times.   Again no print!

Downloaded the latest driver, although, not needed.   Again no print!

***I noticed that the installation never recognized the printer as "plugged in" and the USB printer cable was checked-found to be perfectly plugged into laptop and printer.***I THINK THIS HAS TO BE A CLUE***

The printer is on and the power button lit.

There is paper loaded.

The print cartridges have sufficient ink, although the colored is low and enabled the low ink light-never an issue before.

WHAT TO DO???

Ran all the diagnostics, including HP print doctor, but no solution.

Ran the tools many, many, many times...

I think I "skull & cross bones" HP.

There is no "firmware" update selection available or grayed out on the HP site for this printer, just the kitchen sink download.
