Alright guys,

I have a Deskjet 3000 J310a. I've had it connected to my router for a couple years now. My router went bad.

Yesterday I installed a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Router (Model No WNDR3400). Now I cannot get my printer to connect via WPS to my router. I've tried the "push-button method" as well as the "pin method." Both time out and say that a connection could not be made in the 2 or 4 minute timeframe.

I really need help. I've been trying different things for a couple hours now...blah.

Dear Forum,

I am also having a problem connecting my printer to the wireless network using the Push button.

I have a Mac with the latest software, Mavericks.

The printer is a HP Deskjet 3000.

The WPS on the printer times out and says WPS error after the two minute window.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,

I'm having this same problem with the exact set up. Did you ever figure it out? If so, would you mind sharing what you did?

Thank you!

Don't use WPS, ever.  In fact it should be disabled in the router.  Always connect to your router manually.

Worst answer EVER.

HP customers bought an HP wireless printer. HP id10t says:

"Don't use WPS, ever.  In fact it should be disabled in the router.  Always connect to your router manually."

Is that the best you can do? You are telling users that HP printers are incompatible with modern wireless connectivity.

How does this help someone solve their wireless, WPS issue?

Is this is all you offer please retire from the helpdesk.

Working on the wireless issue with my HP Deskjet 3000. Disabled wireless security and was able to connect with WPS method.

Will try other security settings and see what happens.

WEP security with WPS method fails. Will try more...

FYI - using new Linksys/Cisco EA2700-NP router. The only way it will connec to my Deskjet 3000 is without any wireless security.

Downloaded the HP Basic setup drivers - DJ3000_J310_Basicx64_1315.exe

Was able to re-connect the printer to the wireless network and now it works as normal.

This shouldn't be this hard. The printer was connected to our wireless network but we had to replace the router.

I'm sorry if the medicine taste bad.   But hacking ones router is more important.  WPS only works about 30% of the time with any device, it should be disabled in all routers because there is no fix.  Manually connection works all the time when the instructions are followed.

Hi, I have the same problem, using OSX el capitan 10.11.2

Printer won't connect. WPS timeout or error
