This works, with a couple of caveats:
As soon as I bump the resolution over 300dpi, the option to scan multiple pages to one file (+ icon) disappears.
Also, at the great than 300dpi rate, it seems that the scanner scans the image twice; a little confusing my first time doing this. At 300dpi, the process is: click the scan button, the machine prepares to scan, it scans, you see a preview and click 'save' and give it a name; a very normal process. At greater than 300dpi, you click scan, it prepares to scan, you get a preview, you click 'save' and give it a name, THEN it does the 'full' hi-res scan - without the multipage option.

The question is still not answered.
What do I do when the + symobl for the next scan is not present. It used to be there and I would click on it to make another scan. I do not care about scanning all into a single file, and that seems to be all these questions and answers relate too.
I just want to make scan after scan and when finished, THEN process them in PhotoShop or some other image software. The + symbol used to be there, but now has completely disapeared. I can only scan one time and then have no option other than then treanferring to PhotoShop. Terribley time consuming when making many copies.
Looking in the printer preferences in ePrintCenter has no options for making multiply scans.

Hi Jimwest,
If you use the Hp Scan software provided it will continue to scan multiple pages in a document. Scanning additional pages is supported at 300 dpi or lower. Here is a document that might help.
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03466081
If the software is not installed on your computer here is a link to the software.

Hope this is helpful.

I read all of your posts in regards to scanning a multiple page pdf file with a 3510 printer/scanner. I don't have the + sign or the symbol of a page at the bottom of the thumbnail window on the left and I can't figure out why. I've been fighting this for about 5 or 6 hours,....any ideas? thank you for your time,....Jeff

I just figured out if I choose to have a preview and different screen pop-up comes instead of the save as screen, and this screen on the left side has the plus and minus *******MAS Y MENOS******** SO If having trouble with locating the preview check box you may want to do extra research. I am happy now the only other thing I did however had no effect on figuring out the problem was I ran a compatibility test using my Windows 8 system I did however switch to the Windows 7 mode...don't know if this will help but again nobody on this forum figured to tell about using the preview option in order to get different screen pop up which has the (+)(-) on left panel side......took a gurl and I aM A ROOKIE....

Hi. HP instructions read for multiple page scanning you must have an ADF. I do. I have loaded the pages as instructed in the ADF. Followed the instructions for scanning but it does not take the pages from the ADF but instead scans from the scanner glass as if scanning one page at a time. Is there a step I'm missing or could my printer have a problem? I have never been able to use the ADF for scanning since I bought the printer. I'm at a loss but I know scanning 10 pages one at a time is unacceptable and too time consuming. I need help as soon as possible because I am scanning medical records to my physician at the Cleveland Clinic. PLEASE HELP!!!
Thx Nancey
