Hello jwddurban,

Is this an error on the computer, or on the printer? Which ink cartridge is it, black or tri-color?

Have you tried hard resetting the printer? If not here are the steps to do so:

  1. Unplug the printer while it's still on.
  2. Hold the power button for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the printer back in.

This document has some good steps to follow in attempt to resolve this:

I did the hard reset but no difference.  The error is on the computer and it is the black cartridge.

Thanks

Sorry the error is on the printer not the computer.
