Good Afternoon:
I recently recieved a Deskjet D1430 and I completed the install of the printer through the OS and everything seems fine. The printer is connected and is able to print (takes in paper and goes through the action of printing), but nothing shows up on the paper.
The color ink cartridge is in place but is has no ink. The black ink cartridge is full. I have reconfigured the settings to print in only black/grayscale but still nothing comes out.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer multiple times; I have restarted the computer multiple times aswell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand the printer doesn't work or prints only blank pages on the MacOS Sierra,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Is this the first time you've installed the printer on your computer?
Do you get any error messages while attempting to print?
While you respond to that, here're a few things you could try:
Although the following document doesn't mention Sierra, the following Apple article will guide you through the steps to print/scan via
- Image Capture
- Preview
- Print & Fax preferences in System Preferences
- Scanner / Printer queue
I also suggest using the Apple Scan while you wait for the HP software to be updated. You can use the following link to confirm your printer is still compatible with your OS: Printer and scanner software for macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and Mavericks.

Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
