When I click on the HP icon on my desktop, a box pops up entitled "user account central, Device setup.exe" which is confusing because my printer recognizes the printer and the print jobs go to the print que but won't print. Is this an indicaator that I have to reinstall the printer. Please advise.

I have a HP 8625 printer that suddendly won't print although the print que shows documents waiting to print. The diagnostic report suggest using 3.0 USB printer cable, which I purchased but it doesn't fit into my printer. Best Buy sells 2.0 printer cables for this printer and I was told a 3.0 doesn't exist. Help! Should I purchase another printer and if so, should I purchase a 3.0 USB capatible only?

As I Understand you are getting an error message and are unable to print using the HP 8625 printer and the HP diagnostic recommended that you get a 3.0 USB cable but it doesn't fit into your standard 2.0 printer, don't worry, though, as I have a few steps to identify and resolve these issues,
The USB 3.0 cable and the 2.0 cable are the same when it comes to connection, the only difference is the transfer speed, please ensure you try it the other way around if it isn't connecting.
Also, I will need a few details to provide you an accurate solution:
Which operating system are you using with your computer?
When was the last time it worked fine?
Did you install any updates for the printer or your windows before the issue occurred?
In the meantime you may attempt the below steps:
- Open the Control Panel (icons view) and select User Accounts.
- Click on the Change User Account Control settings link.
If prompted by UAC, click Yes to continue. - In the User Account Control settings, move the slider to the bottom (Never Notify).
if prompted by UAC, click Yes to continue.
