HP OfficeJet 4652

I just recently purchased the OfficeJet 4652 and am trying to set it up to print from my Mac computer wirelessly. When I install the setup software, everything goes fine until I am trying to set my printer up to my wireless internet connection. I live in an apartment where they provide the internet service but I have my own router so I'm not sure that's the issue. My printer is clearly set up to the wifi, but the setup software seems to think otherwise and will not let me proceed. I continuously get a message saying that my device is not found on the wireless network, and I have the option to wait to search a little longer (only before receiving the same message), to reconfigure and go back to the beginning, or to cancel completely. If I try to reconfigure to start over, suddenly the software can not find any device to setup and I am forced to restart the printer to its factory settings and to reinstall the setup software. I am at a loss, I have no idea how to fix this and I really don't want to have to return it to find another printer to use. Help!!

Thanks.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

As I Understand the Device is not found on a wireless network,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help you, although, to provide an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern:

Are you sure that the network doesn't have access to a limited amount of devices as such? because sometimes they put a limit so that the bandwidth and the usage are controlled.

If you are able to connect a phone while you MacOS is connected, that should let us know if there are any such limits, have you checked with any other device that's connected?

And last but not the least, which version of MacOS do you have and did you use the printer software disc or the website to install the software?

While you reply back to my questions, here's a little something that should help you:

I recommend you check with a wired connection and see if that works,

To set up an HP printer on a wireless (Wi-Fi) network, install the printer driver and software from the HP website. When prompted during the installation, select Wireless as the connection type.

Step 1: Prepare for installation

Before setting up the printer on your wireless network, gather the network name and password, and turn on your router, printer, and computer.

  1. Gather the following items:

    • Network name: The network name is the SSID.

    • Network password (WEP key or WPA security passphrase)

    • A computer connected to your wireless network

    • Internet access (recommended): HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL.

    • Your wireless-capable printer: Place your printer close to the computer during the installation.

    • USB cable: The installer prompts you when to connect the USB cable.

  2. Make sure the printer, router, and computer are all turned on, and that the computer is connected to the same wireless network to which you are connecting the printer.

  3. Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables from the printer.

Step 2: Download and install the driver

To set up the printer on a wireless network, install the print driver, and then temporarily connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer. This allows the printer to gather the necessary wireless information from the computer.
