I need to disable the cutter for a 350gsm media on our new z6800, can you tell me if the correct way to do this is through the HP design jet Utility or is there a way to do it on the front panel of the printer. Thanks in advance.

Whenever the canvas was loaded & hp printer won't cut. all papers & medias were ok.

You can disable the cutter when you define the print setting.

My Z3200 is from the feature screen..... disable cutter. also when canvas media was loaded & cutter automatically disabled.

Be careful...  My Z3200 lost few tiny wheels, due to cut thick canvas.

Thanks for your reply, however I have created a custom profile for a 350gsm stoplight media which is based on a photogloss media, and the printer wont cut it, its cuts half way then gets stuck, so I need to disable the cutter for that parti ular media, I see there is an option to do this in the HP design utility and also to change the drying time,  I have used it to alter the drying time and it doesnt seem to have had any effect, so am wondering if its going to work for the cutter, and I dont want to get it caught again as it was very hard to clear last time.

So, try to load & pick it as canvas..... after & you do the color calibration. when you print & pick that icc profile for that media.

Myself the Z3200 printer mostly print on canvas & I removed the blade completely........

you must experiment yourself with your printer & media, in order to find the solution...

Good luck.
