My HP 8710 printer has no issues printing a document if it's a copy, but if I want to print a document from the computer it will not do it. I've gone into the "See what's Printing" and the document is there, I've tried cancelling the document and the command just got stack on the "Status" "Deleting" but it will not delete the document from the printer. I've tried turning the printer off, disconnecting the usb cable from the computer and turning printer on and connecting cable to computer, however this did not resolve the issue. How do I purge the document stack on the print mode?

Hi,
Welcome to HP Support Forum. I think you need to remove the queue. For Windows, please try:
hold down the Windows key and press R.
from the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
if the machine asks for Admin you have to accept this,
look down to the print spooler service, right click it and select properties
click on the Stop button,
browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers or C:\Windows\System\Spool\printers (this may be hidden)
delete the job inside this folder
reboot the machine
Regards.

Hi,
You have to open Windows/File Explorer to see
C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers

I got an email suggesting to call HP Tech Support before I got your answer, so I did. The call was worthless, the customer tech support did not have any suggestions for me except he wanted to have access to my computer to check if I had a virus, which I knew I did not since I had run several virus protection software and none had fund a virus. The service of course was going to be at an additional charge, so I refuse.
I decided to try a new usb cable and wala the printer started working again.
Thanks for your guidance though. I'll keep it in mind if I had same issue in the future and a new cable does not work.
Sincerely,
