1. Open new start screen
2. type "services"
3  click on "view local services"
4  right-click on print spooler
5  click "restart"
6. close window

Should be OK then.

Good luck.

At first I got the error message saying printer offline.  I restarted my computer then the message said printer door open.

I'm now trying to follow the instructions I just read but where is the task bar? I went to the task manager on the desk top.  Sorry, but I'm not too computer savy but learning.

You are awesome!  I was at the brink of insanity with my printer...ready to throw it through a window-or buy a new printer which isn't in the budget.

I don't think I've ever ventured that far into the computer before.

Many many thanks, Printer Guru!

Best and easiest answer to fix my problem. My printer started working as soon as I clicked start.  Didn't have to restart computer. Yippee

My pinter won't print.  It says door open.  What door?
