I kind of have the same question.  i had a HP all in one 4100? and with that printer, when i went to print there was an option to select double sided printing (manual).  the printer would then print the odd sides on it's own, then a dialogue box would pop up telling me how to re-insert the paper, and i would do so and press continue, and the printer would then print the even sides.  It did this without me having to type every single odd number, print, then have to remember exactly how to re-insert the paper, and then type every single even number.  this seems ludicrous.
