Officejet Pro L7590

I have an HP Officejet Pro L7590 printer that worked fine on my old computer. I recently bought a new Acer Aspire TC-875 desktop computer, and I cannot seem to get my printer to work on my new computer. I went to your support center, and followed the instructions:

  1. went to “www.123.hp.com/setup” and downloaded “HPEasyStart_13_4_8.exe”.

  2. I ran the “HP Easy Start” program with the USB cable to my printer disconnected (as instructed).

  3. The program searched for printer, then said “Printer not found, Try something else”.

  4. At this point I connected the printer USB cable, clicked the box for “Use USB cable”, and clicked “continue”.

  5. After a few seconds the program said: “Printer found: HP Officejet Pro L7500”. At this point everything appears to be going good. I then click “continue”, and the program shows: “Checking your software needs” with a rotating circle.

The problem is that the program gets stuck here. It continues to show “Checking your software needs”, and continues to show a rotating circle as if it is searching, but it does not proceed to the next step. I have left it searching for an hour, and nothing happens.

I still have access to my old computer.

Would I be able to download the L7590 drivers from it, and install them on my new computer?

If so, how do I do that?

What operating system did you have on your old printer? You may be able to use a product iike drivermax to extract the driver from your old PC and use it to install on the new PC. Another possible solution is to connect the printer and see if Windows detects and is able to install a Microsoft driver that will at least give you printing ability. Sadly this printer first hit the market in 2004 so it is way past end of life and support life.

Thanks Repairatrooper.  Windows didn't recognize my printer, and I couldn't find anything at Microsoft to help either.

My old printer was working fine with my old computer using Windows 10 at 32 bit, but doesn't like my new computer using Windows 10 at 64 bit.

I'll try Drivermax.
