I think I have accidentally found a solution for the problem (at least it worked for me)

I used the Solution from this issue (as I was pretty desperate at this point) https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/HP-Printer-Drivers-MAC-Big-Sur-P1102w/t... 

I installed the package linked there https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US and after connecting the printer it just worked 🙂  yay!

 

Maybe it will help you guys too 🙂

Thank you MagdalenaS! I just tested this driver and it worked for me too! (M1 Mac pro running Monterey 12.0.1). I wonder what will happen when I upgrade to 12.3.1...

 

I'm very sad to say that HP support was absolutely terrible 😞  Being told to install the same file over and over again, even after explicitly saying that is does not work, was very frustrating. It's like they have a script what to write and don't event read my replies.

 

Also, as a software dev I cannot, understand how can a driver work on 12.0.0, but will not even install on 12.0.1.

I'm on Monterey 12.2.1 and it works fine 🙂 I hope it will continue to work after next upgrades 🤞

Thanks 😊, I also installed with the same instructions.

 

First download and install the HP Printer drivers for MacOS from the next link:

Next go to Preferences > Printers then Add the printer.

Hello, thank me later: !

install the printer on a windows computer !

download the latest version of firmware and driver, install it on windows pc (win 10 on my case)

select the option to install it with the wi-fi procedure !, install the printer, print a test page with windows pc on wi-fi network.

Open mac- monterey, select file to print and search in area for printers !

it will find the hp printer
