***UPDATE***

I called HP support (in India) and got the worst customer service ever.  I told her that the store display for the printer states "Automatic 2 sided printing".  No note about an additional accessory purchase.  Her reply was "Well it also states that it's wireless but we don't give you a wireless router now do we?".  I said that my car has 4 doors but I'd would've been really angry if I picked it up and it only had 2 but the dealer said I can buy the others separately.  It has the capability of being a 4 door car.  It was clear that I wasn't going to get anywhere with HP.

I went back to Staples and showed the manager that the store display states "Automatic 2 sided printing".  Unlike HP's support, he cared about his customer.  He'd rather see me satisfied than return the printer and $70 in cartridges.  He refunded $50 so I can buy the accessory myself from HP.  Now that's true customer service.

In future, I'm buying any printers from Staples although I will avoid HP products.

I also just purchased a 7610 and now find that I need a duplexer. I phoned HP sales, and they said it is not made by HP and is not available from HP. You recently posted that the following website has the duplexer for sale, and Google also comes up with the same site, http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10469626/mfg_partno/C7G18A. My question -- is this website still in effect, is it possible to purchase the duplexer at this time, and is it available (note on site for p/n C7G18A, Call for Availability). Thank you.

Not able to duplex print. Duplexer is installed both in printer and in properties. Does not duplex printmanually either. Have tried all solutions onsupport page.

Bought 7610 in December 2013, with a one year warranty, why does the HP website say my printer is out of warranty?.  Because I need the one yeae warranty to get a printer that works correctly.

Bought 7610 for two reasons, duplex printing and adf scanning.

Never cound get the printer to do duplex printer and I have tried everything listed here to try and fix the problem.  Well today I found out wha the problem probably is, Printer came with a duplex accessory already include in the box,  Driver software says the duplex unit IS installed, while at the same time, the 'Printer Hardware Information' page and  the 'Printer Status Report' page both say the duplexer unit IS NOT installed.  So I guess either the firmware is screwed up and reporting the installation wrong or a sensor is screwed up.  Which is lying, the software or the hardware?

As for the second reason why I purchased this printer, the ADF portion of the printer, here again the printer seems to feed the paper in correctly until the printer starts to scan, then I get an error everytime.

I am losing productivity and wasting paper here HP, please get me a 7610 printer that works as advertised or send me a different model wide-format printer that does ADF and Duplex printing

HP - No response?, no fix?, no idea?, how about a printer that works so I can stop wasting paper and my time?, Or do I buy a different brand of printer?   If I go to another brand, then I will bail on everything HP.

I am having the same problems about not being able to print in duplex. This is from all 3 computers in the house - running Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit. The computers are connected through a wireless network, which had no problem in getting my old Lexmark to print both sides. The duplexer is correctly installed and is recognised by the device driver, showing as switched on. I have tried printing from Word (different versions) and Acrobat, both reverse order and forward, flipped longside and short side. I have also tried the HP trobleshooting tool. I have the latest version of the HP software and driver.

Am I missing something obvious?

Well, it is looking like my duplex printing on the OfficeJet 7610 is solved.  They are sending me another printer.  I was not getting any help at all from HP on this problem so I emailed the president of HP about a week or so ago explaining the problems I was having.  She passed it along to tech support and I got a phone call a few days later.  End result is that the printer has a hardware error and I am getting another one.

Thanks,

I have the same problem with this model, can't print 2 sided. Tried everything suggested in the forum, but in vain. Kindly assist.

What a shame. I bought this printer for business and was lead to believe that it did *everything* out of the box. Now I have to spend more money on a duplexing unit? The price of which is the same I paid for the 5510d it replaced. Which did duplex printing out of the box, albeit only A4.  Come on HP, these are mostly plastic parts printers and you make a killing on the inks. Given the high cost of the printer it should have been included.
