HP Recommended
Laserjet 5500

My printer will not print duplex.  If I try manual duplex, it will not print more than one page.  Very often though, it will not print at all - having lost comunication with the computer.

When I first bought the second-hand machine, it had an ethernet connection, and it worked for a while, but then stopped working.  I took it back to the supplier (500 mile round trip), who changed the board so that it now has a usb connection.  It worked for a while.  I got a local engineer to have a look at it - twice, and both times he reloaded the drivers, and both times it worked for a while.  I have relaoded the drivers my self a number of times but (you've guessed it), it never works for long.

It has been suggested to me that there might be internal software that might be corrupted, but I know nothing of such things.  Al I know is that I have spent a few hundred quid on this machine (including new toner cartrediges) and I can't use it.

Does anybody have any suggestions for me?
